JAKARTA - PT Bank Mega Tbk (MEGA), owned by tycoon Chairul Tanjung, has decided to distribute dividends amounting to IDR 1.05 trillion to shareholders through the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPST).

Christiana M Damanik, Corporate Secretary of MEGA, stated that this amount is equivalent to 40% of the net profit for the 2024 fiscal year.

"Meanwhile, the remaining net profit of IDR 1.58 trillion will be recorded as retained earnings, with part of the funds allocated as reserves to comply with Article 70 of the Limited Liability Company Law (UUPT)," she said in an official statement on Thursday (3/4).

Christiana explained that this decision is part of the company's strategy to provide added value to shareholders.

For reference, MEGA recorded a net profit of IDR 2.63 trillion in 2024, reflecting a decline of 25.04% year-on-year (YoY) from IDR 3.51 trillion in 2023.

Through this dividend distribution, the company remains committed to maintaining a balance between benefiting shareholders and strengthening the financial structure of the company. (DK/LM)
