JAKARTA - PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) has completed 91.70% of the Sultan Alimuddin-Kakap Road Tunnel Project in Samarinda, East Kalimantan.

According to a press release on Thursday (3/4), Joko Raharjo, Corporate Secretary of PTPP, announced that the investment for the Samarinda tunnel project amounted to IDR 395.9 billion. "The Samarinda Tunnel is the first tunnel project by local talent," he stated.

The tunnel project spans 400 meters (m) in length and 10 meters in width, featuring two lanes. The project is planned to be operational in the first semester of 2025. The main innovation in this project is the implementation of the Parallel NATM (New Austrian Tunneling Method), where all tasks are carried out simultaneously, including lower excavation, invert work, and lining work.

He explained that the infrastructure project is funded by the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) of Samarinda City.

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka expressed his appreciation for the construction of the Samarinda Tunnel during his visit in February 2025, as the tunnel will enhance public accessibility in Samarinda City. (LK/LM)
