Telecommunication companies, PT XL Axiata Tbk. (EXCL) and PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk. (FREN) have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding following the planned merger of the two telecommunications companies.

On Monday, May 13, foreign investors were selling 504.19 million shares of the telecommunications company PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) for a net volume of -448.64 million shares. This sale contributed to an increase in foreign sell volume to around 3.60 billion shares. Meanwhile, foreign buy volume was only 3.49 billion shares, resulting in a deficit net foreign volume of -108.77 million shares.

On Friday, March 1, foreign share buying and selling transactions were not much different, at around 2 billion shares each. The foreign buying volume was 2.12 billion shares, whereas the foreign selling volume was 2.04 billion shares. As a result, the net foreign volume stood at 74.99 million shares. The most purchased shares this time were those of the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), with approximately 708.84 million shares and a net volume of 179.57 million shares.
