The Indonesian government has officially announced an increase in Value Added Tax (VAT) to 12% and will take effect from January 1, 2025.

The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has received a proposal from the DPR RI State Financial Accountability Agency (BAKN), regarding the excise rate for packaged sugary drinks (MBDK) of 2.5%.
