JAKARTA - PT MD Pictures Tbk (FILM) is optimistic in capturing a broader market share with the rebranding to PT MD Entertainment Tbk (FILM). This was stated by Manoj Punjabi, CEO of FILM, following the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) on June 28.

"We believe that FILM's growth will expand more significantly in the future, not just with films but with many expansion plans, and it is more appropriate if MD Entertainment's name is broader, not just in films. Therefore, the right holding name should be MD Entertainment. Thus, our major strategy moving forward is to be broader, not limited to films only,"he said.

The EGMS had a quorum presence of 83.34%, representing 7.92 billion of the company"s valid issued shares. For the agenda of changing the company"s name, 99.99% of the quorum presence approved the proposal.

The name change was followed by a change in FILM's logo, which received approval from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) on July 16, 2024.( W/LK )
