JAKARTA – Former Vice President of Indonesia, Boediono, reveals that the development strategies of countries in East Asia rely on their consistency in mobilising human, institutional, and infrastructure development.

"After retiring as Vice President, I have a lot of time for reflecting and reading accounts on how East Asian countries succeed in their development," Boediono said in Jakarta (25/11).

These East Asian countries in question include Japan, South Korea, Thailand, China, and Vietnam. Boediono said that they do have their differences in history, social system, and government regime.

However, according to Boediono, some of these countries have underlying similarities in their foundation of development. How do the strategies resemble one another? See Boediono's explanation above. (VA/ZH)
