JCI drops 1.96% to 6,886.86 in first session

JAKARTA – Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) fell 1.96% or 137.36 points to 6,886.86 during the first trading session on Thursday (6/2), driven by pressure on most sectoral indices.
According to IDNFinancials’ monitoring, the IHSG opened at 7,024.23 in today’s trading. It briefly reached a high of 7,044.71 and a low of 6,881.95.
Several large-cap banking stocks contributed to the IHSG's decline. This was evident in the shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), which dropped -1.92%, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) -7.24%, and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) -2.66%.
Meanwhile, several energy sector stocks also saw price corrections, including PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) -2.15%, PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA) -2.63%, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) -2.76%, PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN) -0.86%, and PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) -1.69%.
