Danantara to channel IDR 300 trillion into priority projects

JAKARTA – The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Authority, or BPI Danantara, will allocate IDR 300 trillion, equivalent to approximately USD 20 billion, to over 20 national projects.
President Prabowo Subianto, during the launch of Danantara today, stated that the funds remain within state savings. “Funds previously hindered by inefficiency, corruption, and misdirected spending will now be allocated for management by Danantara Indonesia,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo noted that a significant portion of the investment will be directed towards national projects that promote industrialisation and downstream processing. His aim is to ensure that Indonesia transitions from being a raw material exporter to developing a stronger domestic industry.
“We no longer want to sell our natural resources at low prices. We do not want to be merely a provider of raw materials for other nations,” Prabowo emphasised.
Strategic projects such as oil refineries, petrochemicals, and New and Renewable Energy (NRE) will also be prioritised by Danantara. In addition, the processing of key commodities like nickel, bauxite, and copper will receive particular focus in downstream sectors.
“This marks a historic milestone in Indonesia’s journey towards economic independence and prosperity,” Prabowo added.
As previously reported by IDNFinancials.com, Danantara was formed following the passage of the State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Law by the Indonesian Parliament (DPR) on February 4, 2025. The investment authority is projected to manage assets totalling IDR 15,978 trillion, equivalent to USD 980 billion. (KR/ZH)
