JAKARTA – PT Agung Podomoro Land Tbk (APLN) is strengthening its synergy with banks and property agents, as they have been the main contributors to the growth of Indonesia’s property industry.

APLN's President Director, Bacelius Ruru, explained that banks and property agents play a vital role in navigating the dynamics of the national property industry. “They have been with us through the ups and downs of the national property industry, helping us survive until today,” said Ruru during the Podomoro Harmony Award 2025 event, held last week at Senayan City Mall, Jakarta.

Bank Indonesia data shows that total property loans reached IDR 1,410.8 trillion in January 2025, with IDR 796.6 trillion, or 56.5%, being loans provided through mortgage schemes such as the Housing Ownership Loan (KPR) and Apartment Ownership Loan (KPA).

This, Ruru said, highlights the significant contribution of banks in facilitating public access to property ownership.

For over 55 years, banks and property agents have been an integral part of the company’s business chain. “With this support, Indonesia’s property sector is expected to grow by more than 2% in 2025,” he added.

In addition to the role of banks and property agents, Ruru noted that government support will also push this growth target. Examples include government-borne VAT (PPN-DTP), plans for BPHTB tax exemptions, and the trend of low interest rates to boost purchasing power.

According to IDNFinancials.com data, APLN’s total sales declined by 29.16% year-on-year (yoy) to IDR 2.77 trillion as of September 2024. (DK/KR/ZH)
