JAKARTA – Several retail issuers continue to drive promotions to boost sales in the final week of Ramadan leading up to the Eid al-Fitr holiday at the end of this month.

Some retail issuers, such as PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPI) and PT Aspirasi Hidup Indonesia Tbk (ACES), are still continuing their discount programmes, which began earlier this year. Specifically for ACES, the promotion period is the longest among other retailers, due to the rebranding of its AZKO outlets earlier this year.

BRI Danareksa Sekuritas analysts, Natalia Sutanto and Sabela Nur Amalina, noted in their research report a significant price increase for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) at this time. For example, several popular products during Eid al-Fitr, such as biscuits, milk, and dishwashing soap, have seen price increases of around 6-18%.

"With the diverse product price ranges and business efficiencies, we see this moment supporting the performance of retail issuers for the 2025 financial year," they said.

However, the two analysts also emphasised their concerns regarding low consumer demand and purchasing power. "Nonetheless, selected players in the consumer and retail sectors can still record growth," they explained.

The retail issuers recommended for a BUY by BRI Danareksa Sekuritas include MAPI, PT Map Aktif Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPA), ACES, and PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk (MIDI).

Other consumer sector issuers, such as PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP)PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF)PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF)PT Mayora Indah Tbk (MYOR), and PT Industri Jamu dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO), also received attention, with BUY recommendations for each stock. (KR/ZH)
