JAKARTA – Container shipping company PT Temas Tbk (TMAS) is optimistic about achieving a net profit of IDR 900 billion for the fiscal year 2025, despite a decline in performance throughout 2024.

Ricky Effendi, President Director of TMAS, stated that this target is supported by projected revenue growth of 5–10% year-on-year (yoy), reaching IDR 4.8–5 trillion in 2025.

Meanwhile, for 2025, TMAS has allocated a capital expenditure (capex) of approximately IDR 3 trillion, which will be used for fleet acquisition, equipment, and the development of tools for the company and its subsidiaries.

“With the capex we have allocated, our net profit target is in the range of IDR 900 billion,” Ricky mentioned during the Public Expose following the General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPS) for the 2024 fiscal year in Jakarta on Monday (24/3).

Based on the 2024 financial report, TMAS recorded a net profit attributable to the owners of the parent entity amounting to IDR 673.36 billion, a decline of 13.96% compared to the previous year’s profit of IDR 782.61 billion.

This drop in profit occurred despite TMAS’s revenue rising by 0.9% to IDR 4.34 trillion from IDR 4.30 trillion in 2023.

According to Ricky, the decline in net profit was influenced by market dynamics and the increase in fuel oil prices, which is a major component of the company’s operational shipping costs.

“Nonetheless, we remain optimistic about facing this year with the various strategies we have prepared,” he said. (DK/ZH)
