Unusual price surge, IDX watches BESS closely

JAKARTA – PT Batulicin Nusantara Maritim Tbk (BESS) has drawn the attention of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) after experiencing a surge in its stock price deemed as Unusual Market Activity (UMA).
“UMA does not necessarily indicate a violation of capital market regulations,” said Yulianto Aji Sadono, the Head of the BEI Transaction Supervision Division, in an official statement today (17/2).
As of 09.35 AM WIB on Tuesday (18/2), BESS stock rose by 5.66%, or 30 points, to Rp560. The stock has also surged 15.23% over the past week and 33.33% over the past month.
For the record, BESS was previously flagged for UMA on February 6, 2025, and October 14, 2024.
In response to the recent UMA, BEI is monitoring BESS's trading activity. The authority also advises investors to carefully review BESS's corporate actions and consider potential risks before making investment decisions. (DH/KR/ZH)
